A customer database is a collection of information about customers that is organized and stored in a systematic way for easy retrieval and analysis (Zhostka, 2022). A customer database is created to gather information about customers' demographics, contact information, and purchasing history, which can help businesses understand their customers better and make informed decisions about marketing, sales, and customer service (Martin, 2021).

For example, a customer database in MS Excel might include the following information:

A product database is a collection of information about a company's products, including product specifications, pricing, and availability (Zhostka, 2022). A product database is created to manage a company's product information, making it easier to track inventory, manage pricing, and make informed decisions about product development and marketing (Martin, 2021).

For example, a product database in MS Excel might include the following information:

I have a product table on my e-commerce website that includes the following attributes: Product No, Product Name, Unit Price, Sale Price, Stock Quantity, Stock Sold, Total Cost, Total Sale, and Profit. This table serves as a database of all the products available on my website. By organizing the products in a structured manner, it helps customers to easily browse and purchase the products they are looking for. Additionally, it also helps me to keep track of the inventory, sales, and profitability of each product, enabling me to make informed business decisions.

In conclusion, customer and product databases are essential for businesses as they help gather and organize information about customers and products, making it easier to make informed decisions about marketing, sales, and product development (Martin, 2021).

At the end, I also added a table that represents orders and contains all the essential information such as primary key, customer foreign key, product foreign key, order date, total price of the order, payment method, delivery address, status of order, and quantity of ordered products. This will facilitate the process of completing orders. The table was designed in MS Excel after gaining knowledge from the references and lectures at De Montfort College.
